Fix My Life - Fix My Love Life

I was watching an older episode of Iyanla Vanzant. By the way we share birthdays too as well as Tyler Perry, September 13th. Anyway, she left some great information for my simply gorgeous sisters out here.

1. Be confident - A gentleman stood up and said be confident and if you believe that you are confident, he has no choice but to believe it too.
2. Do not say I don't need a man. We do need a man. I know for me there are some things I can't do. Eddy helps me with thin
gs all the time and I am not ashamed to ask. Men love to help us.  Men need us too!
3. I will stay in a bad relationship and it beats being alone. Iyanla said being alone is not a bad thing. She said enjoy your life and spend time with friends. There are some things that your man does not want to do with you.
4. It was a lady on there, she was so picky over the age of the men, the height, their career, etc. After a while of watching her, I could not keep up. Unfortunately, some women act as though they are perfect but the truth is none of us are. Being too picky is a common theme among very attractive, independent and successful women. I am not saying go to the bottom of the barrel and grab a man but sometimes be a little more open. I NEVER thought I would be with a man from Haiti. It is not that I was against dating someone from another country but it just never crossed my mind. Be open and especially as you get older. Some of us are not in our 20's anymore. BE open, flexible and please get out and about. See the world!!
6. Why didn't he call me back? One guy said he was not interested and another guy said maybe it is a fear of rejection so they don't call you scared you may not want to talk to them. (That sounds crazy but....).
7. THIS ONE WAS KEY:....A man stood up and said I do not want a woman chasing me. He stated that that was his job to CHASE YOU..... He said that is described as thirsty. He said men do not like THIRSTY. Wow.....I totally agree with this. Don't get thirsty.

Look..............I type all of this stuff because I had a hard time dating after my divorce in 1999. I was not in a good place and I made some severe mistakes. It cost me my mental sanity, health and I am sure many other things. I can speak on some of these things because I was in the trenches.

It is 2015 and the game has not changed. Boy see girl, likes girl, chases girl. I don't care how much things seem as they have changed, I beg to differ.
I love Iyanla because she keeps it real. She also calls stuff out on the carpet that we hide behind. Good stuff.....
